Choose the Art
  1. Find your favorite picture at the bottom of this page.

  2. Click on it to make it big. When you find the one you like, print it. (Experiment with light/dark settings on your copier.)

  3. Now you are ready to imitate the masters!

Imitate the Masters
  1. Work on the print-out. Focus on the style and imitate it with your art supplies.

  2. Switch to the color version for reference. (Click on the word color).

  3. How does it feel to work in the style of the artist? Is it hard? Is it fun? Is the style similar to the way you see things? What other subjects might be done in that style and why?

Click on a picture below to open the image in black and white. Print it. Use pencils, crayons, paint, whatever, and try to imitate the style. The word color opens the color version.
